TIMES PACITAN, MADIUN – The Candimulyo, Dolopo, Madiun had just held the sedekah bumi ceremony. Sedekah bumi is a ceremony that held as a gratitude to the God for giving them such a good harvest and bless in all the thing they do.
The ceremony was enliven with a performance of 100 Tayub (local music) dancer. There were also some other performance like the Indonesian martial arts, Retno Dumilah dance, the rhyme competition, the tayub costume competition, and a people's market.
"The parade was also aimed to erase the negative point of view about tayub. As we all know, so far tayub has been associated with some drink and some gambling," Rahmad Shodiq, the chief of Pokdarwis of Candimulyo said on Sunday (28/7/2019).
In addition he also hope that this kind of event could be maintained and preserved. "The sedekah bumi with 100 tayub dancers are hope to be able to inspire another area in Madiun to create more creative and innovative attraction," he added. (*)
